PALL commissioned Promech to provide engineering, procurement, and construction management services on a project involving the design and construction of two new filtration skids.
The new filtration skids were to be added to an existing fleet of skids which PALL lease to companies within the refining, petrochemical and oil & gas industries, typically during the plant commissioning stage of the project.
Each filtration skid consists of a pressure vessel, piping, valves, equipment and instrumentation, all installed on a single structural frame.
Promech completed all elements of the skid design including process design, structural, mechanical and piping design and also valve, equipment and instrumentation specification.
Promech also managed the procurement of all skid components, liaising with the relevant vendors to ensure that all items were both technically and commercially suitable.
Promech’s final involvement in the project was to oversee and manage the fabrication, inspection, testing and final assembly of both filtration skids with a key focus on quality assurance.
Promech’s key project achievements included:
- Completion of turnkey module design
- Rationalised the design to accommodate multiple installation locations and multiple process fluids
- Compact modular design to minimise the required transport and installation envelopes
- Successfully managed the procurement and construction to ensure a high quality and cost effective end product
